Blog Post #2

Before I actually read "Father's Storie's" I assumed it was going to be about children telling their stories about their father's and their relationship with them, or even the absence of a father. However, after reading it, I then realized it was about a father telling his story of his son and his child's life. As well as stories about events leading up to an event that changed his life. While reading the story I began to wonder what actually happened to the father's son and by the end I still wasn't sure.
In my opinion, I feel the father wants us to understand as much as he does, if not more by telling us how he feels. Even though his son isn't dead he still feels the absence of his son and can't even grasp how it could happen that way. The father telling this story to us may be his way of expressing how he feels. So I've gatherd his his father is trying to understand, and cope with it all st the same time.
The father also does a wonderful way of describing his son to us through stories of how he felt about his son as well as his sons actions through his childhood. I also feel as if the father is trying to connect all the pieces together and can't believe that it's even possible his son could do that.
Stories aren't just to pass down traditions and can also connect people as well as being memories. In some ways stories have stories within them bringing even more significance to a family or group. Stories keep people together as well as bring them back together.
