Blog Post Two

After I read "Father Stories" I had a lot of different thoughts going through my mind. Most of them made more sense after learning the truth about what had happened to the boy. I had wondered mostly after reading what had happened to him. My original thoughts was that someone had killed his roommate, and then kidnapped him where he was later killed as well. I figured that they never found his body, or the person who had done these things to him. To me these thoughts made sense because of the way the father reminisced his son.
However, after finding out the truth about the boy my opinions changed. After learning that the boy killed his roommate, and was now serving time in prison for it my thought process on the father's reminiscing is now different. I think that he is reminiscing to figure out where he went wrong as a parent. He is trying to analyze the significant moments in his son's life to see if there was signs pointing to him one day being a murder. Also, I think that the father blames himself, and has a lot of guilt for his son's actions.
When it is discussed about the mother grieving, I believe that she is grieving the loss of her son's innocence, and respectable reputation. He is no longer the image that every mother has of their own child, he is now more less a horrible individual.
Overall, I enjoyed reading "Father Stories" because, it was a very suspenseful read. You really had no idea what was going on throughout the story which I liked. It allowed your mind to wander, and for you to form your own thoughts and opinions.
