Lake Park Blog Post 1

Lake Park

Lake Park is a great place located near the town of Coshocton, it offers a diverse range of activities to do such as fishing, soccer, baseball, swimming, and taking jogs or walks around the lake to name a few. This park, as its name suggests, has a medium sized lake by the entrance with a somewhat pathed path going around it. There are also docks sticking out into the lake that are used for fishing as well as benches allowing non-fishers to enjoy the lake. Lake Park is a great place for beginning fishers as it is one of the few places where a fishing license is not required to fish at. Lake Park hosts a variety of fish from Bluegill to Bass.

Lake Park also serves as one of the two hubs of sports activities for Coshocton. Many little league and high school teams play at Lake Park for sports like Soccer and Baseball. They even have a Diamond for adult league teams to play on.

Lake Park also has one of the only swimming pools around the city of Coshocton.  This Pool ranges from the “kid zone” of less than 2 feet to the adult section which reaches 8ft down. In the middle section where the water is ~4ft deep there are two mushrooms like structures that spray water down their sides forming miniatures fountains. During the hot days of summer, it is not often that you can’t even find a parking spot into the aquatic center that houses this pool as well as a snack shop. However, this time of year the pool is drained, and the aquatic center is closed.

Lake Park also has rentable campsites allowing people to camp out during the summer. There are different types of camp sites from regular tent and fire camping, to electrical camper camping.  Near the campsites is a bike path that goes further back and eventually loops back to the entrance of the park.  Lake Park is a special place to the community of Coshocton allowing us a chance to get outside and enjoy the beauty of nature while doing some of our favorite recreational activities.
