Tuscora park is a local treasure that has been a part of the backbone of our community for over a century. It is located on Tuscora Avenue in New Phila and is quite a spacious public park (as seen in the map above) with numerous rides and attractions. The most popular attractions include the ferris wheel and the large public swimming pool. There are several wooded areas and picnic tables where families can go to enjoy some quality time outdoors without having to drive too far from home. Our park also creates jobs in the community since many people are needed to run such a large park (ex: maintenance, concession stand, lifeguards, ride operators, etc).Though a public park typically caters to young children, there are attractions teens can enjoy as well. Park Place, which is a building in the park dedicated to being a youth center for teens, is a place teens can go to enjoy games, snacks, socializing, etc. Many parents and family members also must enjoy seeing their children be able to have so much fun in our community as well.

Overall Tuscora park is a wonderful resource for members of the community to have fun. My mother has even expressed her happiness for the convenience that she only had to drive just a few miles to get to a place where my sister and myself could have hours and hours of fun as children. I have so many precious childhood memories at this park (the swings were my favorite) in my childhood and early teen years and it is my hope that Tuscora park will remain to be as popular of a destination as it has been since its establishment in 1907 by the Reeves family of Dover. Having such a nice local park that is so well-maintained really helps instill community pride. Every summer I get to see Tuscora park just filled with people of all ages all with smiling faces and it truly gives me another reason to be happy to live in the community that I do.
