Lynn
Drive inn
Have you ever wanted to see
a movie but not leave the comforts of your own car, or you and the significant
other want to have a beautiful movie night but you don’t want go to the movie
theater or stay at home, Well I have news for you there’s a drive in that still
exists in Tuscarawas county, in Strasburg, Ohio.
The Lynn Drive-In has been
around for 81 years opening back up in 1937. Not only is it the oldest outdoor
movie theatre in Ohio, but also seconded to oldest theater around the world!
Before being known as Lynn Drive In it’s was commonly known as Boyer’s Auto
Theatre when it first opened. It was a restaurant, gas station and golf driving
range before they had finally found it’s true purpose in life. Since it’s
opening it’s had 4 more owners one of the 4 owners named it Lynn after his
daughter.
This drive-in theatre is a
memory maker. I can remember myself when my family first moved here that was
something we did almost every weekend in the summer my dad had off we would go
there to watch the new movies.
You could smell the fresh popped popcorn
and the hot liquid cheese on the nachos. Your stomach would growl, you’d look
at your parents begging them for money to go eat something to eat. While you’re
getting food, you notice there are old arcade machines and you count the change
that was left from the food you had gotten and run back to the car begging your
mom to let you keep the change, so you could play in the arcade before the
movie starts.
The
atmosphere is a very lively feel. When going there depending on the movie that
being scene you seen people of all ages. Infants, children, teens, adults and
elders all chatting with one another and getting along as though they are
communicating with someone they’ve known all their lives even if they just met
them that night.
